12 Roses - Preamble

12 Roses Preamble

Oh, about seven years ago I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and possible Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  Pretty serious little destructive brain games and adventures, and or genetics, can play with a person’s life.

I will be publishing the story of how this came to be.

I have followed the Bible in basic theme construction.  This is not because I am actually very religious, because I am not.  I just found the format to be useful in putting the story in some kind of understandable construct.  Plus I do read the Bible a lot and have always found it to be a fascinating sort of story.

I am doing to this for one reason – really – and one reason only; to save lives, if I can possibly do that.  Millions suffer from and are forced to deal with these hidden handicapshidden disabilities that can be actually more destructive to a life than loosing an arm or leg.  And I will delve into why I believe that is the case.

I do have a wonderful editor for my other books, but as you will read, there are parts of this story that are not pretty.  In fact they are rather harsh, deeply emotionally hard to read, or hear about.  It is also very deeply personal, with no wish to embarrass anyone.  This being a truth, I am not calling on her to work with this publication.  It would not be fair.  So you will find that I do have a lot of trouble with grammar.  Not so much spelling, but my grammar is very stylized and not so good.

But I am exhausted with hiding.  I am exhausted with living a double life at my advanced age.  I can only hope shine a light, even a small flickering candle, to help others find some solace, some bit of peace, in a world that truly continues to persecute them for their unsolicited and often grievous condition – I will be happy to expose my own trials.

I am aware that there are a number of very good books by others on this subject.  I have read a dozen or more of the stories of others dealing with BP and PTSD and found great solace of my own in them and their roads to recovery.  I do believe that the more voices that are heard on this matter, the persecution and even prosecution, the prejudice and ignorance that surround them, well – maybe our entire society can become a better place in which to live.

** I will continue this brief preamble next week …
Laugh, love, dance and do jazz hands …
If it ain’t fun, it ain’t worth it ….
